Donna Mills adopted her daughter Chloe Mills when she was only four days old.

Donna took an 18-year career break to focus on raising Chloe, who just celebrated her birthday.

Donna Mills is an exceptional actress known for starring in productions such as “General Hospital,” “Knots Landing,” and “Dawn.” However, the actress’s dream from the age of 5 was to be a dancer before she ventured into acting.

Donna didn’t find any dancing jobs to audition for, so without taking any acting classes, she took part in an acting audition and easily landed a part in a comedy titled “Come Blow Your Horn.” This role was when she really pivoted towards acting.

Donna was successful as an actress and entirely focused on her acting career, but when she became a mom, her life changed. The actress became a mom at 54 when she adopted a 4-day-old baby daughter, Chloe Mills, in 1994.

The movie star said she had wanted to have a child, but by the time she was ready for one, it was a little too late for her, and she chose to adopt. When she made this choice, people criticized her and told her that she was going to be too old to have a little toddler running around.

However, Donna said she never felt older than other mothers who were probably in their 20s. She added that the day she welcomed Chloe and became her mom was one of the happiest periods of her life.

After Donna became a mom, she stepped away from acting to be a full-time mother to her daughter as she didn’t want to be apart from her. Donna said she loved her acting career, but being a mom outshined everything. She also wanted Chloe to have a normal life, which pushed the actress to stop working.

Donna didn’t work for 18 years. In the first few years, she did some movies for television; then, when Chloe started school, the actress stopped working completely as she told herself she didn’t become a mother for her child to be raised by a nanny.

Donna’s daughter is now a fine young woman who is a model and an executive at SoHo House. Even after Donna resumed work, she remained close to Chloe.

Chloe, who is Donna’s only child, was born on September 12, 1994. She just celebrated her 29th birthday, and her mom shared a cute picture of the two of them on Instagram. In the photo, Donna has held her daughter closely to her chest, with a younger Chloe resting her hand on her mom’s shoulder. The actress captioned the post:

On September 12, 2022, when Chloe turned 28, Donna shared another emotional post on Instagram celebrating her daughter’s birthday. “The 28 years that we have spent together are the most meaningful and precious of my life,” the actress wrote partly.

The 82-year-old added that she was proud of the beautiful and spectacular woman Chloe had grown into. She called her daughter her everything and said she loved her to the moon and back. In 2018, Chloe stunned fans with a gorgeous picture of herself in a bikini.
